On Freedom Day in 2007, Rob Schermbrucker got his "princess", Karin, and together they continue to celebrate a freedom that is every persons promise and right. It was more than infatuation and romance that had brought them together though, it was a shared purpose: "to take down giants!" and to "awaken the sleeping giant".
With a mutual passion for visual story telling that 'opens eyes' and 'changes perspective', they created Slingshot Media and dedicated the next chapter of their lives to travel Africa - to capture and tell stories of hope that would bring liberation.
"All men dream dreams, but not equally. Some dream dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds and wake in the day to find that all was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes, and make it possible." T. E. Lawrence
Their battle cry, "All things are possible!" has echoed in many nations, in many places, with many different faces. They continue to use visual media (stills and video) to start dialogue within communities ("launchers"), believing that it is this dialogue that converts into action and will ultimately bring change to a crisis or given situation.
"This generation will be remembered for how we respond to the crisis in Africa"
